Ginger Balls

Ingredients:

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
4 teaspoons molasses
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt

Chocolate Oatmeal Drops

2 cups sugar
¼ cup cocoa
½ cup milk
½ cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. salt
½ cup peanut butter
3 cups rolled oats

Cranberry Noels

Once formed into logs and wrapped well in plastic, the dough can be stored in the freezer for up to one month.   Before slicing, leave the dough at room temperature until it just begins to soften.  For a festive variation, roll the edges in colored sanding sugar before baking.
